Their artistic fan base includes Rob Thomas, John Mayer, Brandon Flowers of the Killers, Ben Gibbard of Death Cab For Cutie and MTV's newest hipsters, Gym Class Heroes, who dubbed their tour "Daryl Hall for President Tour 2007." One of the most sampled artists today, their impact can be heard everywhere from boy band harmonies, to neo-soul to rap-rock fusion. Saturday, August 17th Live @ Sapolil - Poultry in Motion Eclectic Folk
Date:
August 17, 2013
Location:
Sapolil Cellars, 15 E Main Street, Walla Walla, WA
Description:
The music swings around all kinds of styles from Country through Cajun to Rock. Singer and multi-instrumentalist Steve Amsden (known as number one) brings his colossal knowledge of music to the group in many forms. Randy Bruce, local choral maestro, plays both piano and fiddle. Gib Dammonn, from the East Coast, is the drummer who has played with a number of unknown musicians from Virginia to Seattle. On bass, they have Doug 'rock star' Ringer, well-known bass player on the island. Dave Lang plays accordion, fiddle, and mandolin and is known as the patriarch of the local Cajun band Rip Tide Ramblers. Wilson Abbott brings his Dobro slide sound to the group. Last and least is that odd fellow Chris Anderson. No one in the group knows what he does. He just seems to show up and stand in one of the corners with a guitar on his head.
The only thing that can really be said about Poultry is that no one, especially the group itself, knows what songs will appear when they play. 9 - Midnight  Cover: $5 For more info: 509-520-1273  Enjoy a Full Bar, Featuring Sapolil Cellars Wine, Beer on Tap and by the Bottle, and a full menu of hard liquor libations. Location:
Sapolil Cellars, 15 E Main Street, Walla Walla, WA
Description:
Originally from Spokane, WA, singer-songwriter, Whitney Mongé moved to the Seattle area in 2008 to pursue her career in music. She began her journey busking in the Pike Place Market, which has since led to several opportunities such as live performances on ESPN’s “Mayne Event”, The Bob Rivers Show, KSER, KYRS and an artist spotlight on the local PBS television station KTCS 9, that aired on May 30th, 2013 on the Pie series (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-nAPNsYF00). Mongé‘s 2011 debut album, Heartbeat, snowballed into such a success that seven months later she recorded her EP Steadfast produced by Grammy Award Winner, Pete Stewart.
