Learn how to taste wine knowledgeably and describe what you are tasting. In this 9-hour course, Certified Educator and Sommelier Dieter Schafer introduces you to wine types, grapes, varietals, and wine regions of the world, as well as the basics of reading a wine label. Gain hints for smart buying, proper storing and aging. Also included are wine-and-food pairing guidelines. Tasting each session. Located in an old blacksmith shop at 3rd & Birch, Forgeron Cellars is within easy walking distance from Walla Walla’s major hotels and restaurants. As guests tour through the tank and barrel rooms, they are given an intimate look into the mechanics of winemaking while being treated to award-winning red and white wines. Every tour includes insight into Marie-Eve’s winemaking philosophy and how it affects each individual wine’s character and makeup.
