Our Story

PIETY FLATS WINERY is a joint venture from the owners of the historic Donald Mercantile, Jim & Kris Russi are producing distinctive Yakima Valley wines along with a touch of history. Piety Flats was the first area in the Valley to have irrigation thus the true beginning of the "Yakima Valley". The tasting room is situated in the 1911 Donald Mercantile with its old country store charm where you can sample Syrah, Cabernet, Merlot,Carmenere, Pinot Grigo/Chardonnay,Riesling, non oaked Chardonnay, Gewurztraminer, Chenin Blanc, Black Muscat and Port. Tour groups and individuals are welcome to visit the historic Donald Fruit and Mercantile, the site of Piety Flats Winery. Taste our wines, and have a picnic next to the winery on our picnic tables or bring a blanket and enjoy our selection of gourmet food items available at the winery. Cougar Gold Cheese available. We have a full fledged Bocce Ball court at the winery. You can bring your own set or use ours. No charge.
