- Harvest Winery Tour & Scarecrow Contest
-
- Dates:
- November 10, 2012 - November 11, 2012
- Location:
- Olympic Peninsula Wineries
-
- Description:
- The Olympic Peninsula Wineries Association (OPWA) of Washington invites wine enthusiasts of every level to join in a celebration of all that the harvest has to offer at its annual Harvest Wine Tour, to take place on November 10 & 11, 2012, from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Locally made Washington wines and ciders, including new releases, will be paired with harvest inspired appetizers. “Fun and celebration are the operatives for this event,” says OPWA President Vicki Corson.
The Olympic Peninsula Wineries will put their creative grape juices to the test at this year's annual Harvest Wine Tour, with each winery displaying its own artistic interpretation of the "Wine Scarecrow" for visitors to enjoy. Limited only by their imaginations, the wineries will strive to design the most unique vineyard watchman ever to scare (or commune with) a pesky bird! Visitors can vote for their favorite scarecrow while tasting the best of the vintage.
The $30.00 ticket for the self-guided tour can be purchased online and at participating wineries during the event. Tickets entitle participants to a commemorative wine glass and complimentary wine tastings and appetizers at each winery during the event weekend.
A tasting fee of $5.00 per winery will apply to non-ticketed visitors. Get your ticket stamped at all eight wineries and be eligible to enter our gift basket drawing. While children are allowed in the tasting rooms, you must be 21 or over to purchase tickets and/or participate in wine tasting. All ticket sales are non-refundable.
The Olympic Peninsula Wineries encourages responsible wine touring and recommends that you have a designated driver in your group. Why not “Make It a Weekend”? The Travel Guide tab on our website provides a list of local lodging and dining options on the Olympic Peninsula.
