SP3: The Scott Pemberton Trio LIVE AT CHARLES SMITH WINES!
Date:
May 17, 2013
Location:
Charles Smith Wines 35 S. Spokane Street, Walla Walla, WA 99362
Description:
Until you have seen Scott Pemberton play the guitar it is hard to describe what he does. His music comes from the heart, is very dancable and quite honestly, no one plays the guitar quite like him. He gets regular comparisons to other great musicians such as Jimi Hendrix, Dick Dale and James Brown, but after a brief listen it is clear that Scott has something all his own. "Classic rock, jazz, psychedelia and everything in between collide and fuse around the notion of discovery that jumps with ease from the composer to the listener.... Pemberton is a multi-genre master and a clever lyricist who can convey fun while digging deep" (Willamette Week) The infectiously positive music Scott creates has been creating waves in Portland, Oregon, and around the region. His most recent Portland show at the Doug Fir sold out well in advance and the numbers at his performances on tour are quickly growing. Don't miss this incredible act in Walla Walla, Washington, for one night only! $12 - 7pm DOORS 8pm SHOW 21+ w/ ID

Live @ Sapolil - Lisa Mann & Her Really Good Band Kick Off Show : ‘Til the Wheels Come Off’ Tour! Blues/Rock/Funk
Date:
May 24, 2013
Location:
Sapolil Cellars, 15 E Main Street, Walla Walla, WA
Description:
Powerhouse bassist and front woman Lisa Mann and her aptly named “Really Good Band” have been mainstays of the Northwest music scene for several years, and have graced the stage at some of the finest blues events, such as the Waterfront Blues Festival, Bronze Blues & Brews, Untapped Blues Festival, Sunbanks and more. Lisa is a proud inductee into the Cascade Blues Association’s Hall of Fame after winning the Muddy Waters Award for Bass Player of the Year three times in a row. In Nov of 2012, Lisa took home the Muddy for Bass yet again, and to top that off, she took home Female Vocalist of the Year and her “Really Good Band” won Contemporary Blues Act of the Year. Lisa also won the Portland Music Award for Outstanding Achievement in Blues in 2012. Her influences run the gamut, from low down blues sisters Etta James and Koko Taylor, to singer-songwriters like Bonnie Raitt and Sheryl Crow, to R&B belters like Little Milton. She writes the majority of her recorded material, and her songs paint pictures of a gritty (and sometimes humorous) personal experience in life, love and the not-always-pretty music business. http://www.lisamannmusic.com/ 9 - Midnight  Cover: $8 or 2/$15 Enjoy a Full Bar, Featuring Sapolil Cellars Wine, Beer on Tap and by the Bottle, and a full menu of hard liquor libations.
