Taste wine from these Wineries Wind Rose Cellars - Wind Rose Cellars aspires to be Pacific Northwest’s premier winery for producing Italian style wines. |
Our Story
Wind Rose Cellars is a joint project of
husband and wife team David Volmut and Jennifer
States. David has direct work experience in four
crushes, and understands that there is more that
goes into making a premium bottle of wine than
just dreams, romance and the perfect vineyard
alone.
Food has always been a passion for David
and he sees wine as the penultimate form
of food. Over the past few years, David
and Jennifer have made trips to Italy,
particularly Piedmont and Sicily, as they
hone their craft.
With deep Italian roots, their wines
primarily focus on Italian varieties found
on the Eastern side of Washington. Grown
in small quantities, they continue to search
and try new sites, allowing for their small
and lot production, typically 75-100 cases
per lot. Their winemaking style is to be true
to the variety where possible, with a focus
on the fruit flavors and acids found within.
With longer maceration on the skins, their
reds have developed structure and depth,
but should be approachable in their youth.
Winemaking is at their facility in Sequim
(pronounced “skwim”), located at the
base of the Olympics.
