Our Story

Founded in 2003 by Chad Johnson and Corey Braunel, Dusted Valley Vintners produces spectacular wines from its 4,000 case operation, including Bordeaux and Rhone style blends, Syrah, Viognier and Chardonnay. The two brothers-in-law production philosophies focus on sustainable vineyard practices and low intervention winemaking techniques that help develop their distinctive wines. With strong roots in agriculture, the Johnson and Braunel clan is vineyard focused and farm four diverse vineyards totaling almost 100 acres in the Walla Walla Valley. In addition, they have a unique barrel project sourcing oak from the 45th parallel on Corey’s parents’ farm in Wisconsin, about as far north as American white oak will grow. The northerly climate creates an ideal tight grain in the wood that more closely represents the tight grain of famous French oak growing regions. Dusted Valley proudly shares “the good life” with friends and fans at their two tasting rooms– one at the foot of the Blue Mountains in Walla Walla and one in Woodinville at the Dusted Valley Wine Gallery.
