Our Story
At age 19, Paul Portteus III began making beer on his Lake Union houseboat. Then through his parents' efforts he soon developed an interest in wine. This interest led to the Yakima Valley in 1980 where the search for a vineyard site began. Paul and his wife Marilyn planted their 47 acre vineyard in 1982 and their first Cabernet was produced from the 1984 harvest. The winery is best known for its (red) Zinfandel and its highly awarded Cabernet.
