Our winemaker and son, Joel is becoming well known for his consistent smooth style of wines. His Barbera Rose' is a hit that converts many red-only wine drinkers to the pink side. Moderate oak and soft tannins are his hallmark for the red varietals that are bold and full of flavor. New releases are coming in the fall of 2012 and more varietlas in 2013, so come out and give them a try.

Our Story

If you are in Walla Walla, be sure to make time to visit us, located at the Walla Walla Airport in the incubator complex. Owned by Jim, Karen, and oldest son, Joel Waite, we are happy to have the opportunity to show off our winery and discuss the wine-making process. Joel, the winemaker, spent over 20 years in the retail end of wines at some of best fine dining establishments in Washington D.C., including many years as a private chef and caterer. After graduating from the Center for Enology and Viticulture in Walla Walla, and honing his skills at Maryhill Winery, Joel is now creating the styles of wines that he enjoys sharing with friends and family.

Tasting Room: CAVU Cellars tasting room is located at the winery, which is on the airport complex at 602 Piper Avenue. We are open daily from 11-5.
